The beginning of 2024 proved to be rich with innovations in the field of camping and caravans. As soon as the New Year’s celebrations were over, on January 6-14, Turkey’s largest caravan fair, Karavanist 2024, took place at the Tüyap Fair and Convention Center in Istanbul. For the fourth time in history, this venue has welcomed the international audience interested in the Turkish share of the caravan market.
Eight halls of the exhibition center with a total area of 70 thousand square meters (that’s the same as 9 football fields!) hosted Turkish, European, and American manufacturers and dealers of various types of caravans, campers, motorhomes, models of tiny houses, and accessories, as well as outdoor and camping equipment that have recently gained in popularity.
Such a large area dedicated to the exhibit demonstrates a high demand for next-generation caravans.
This year, the exhibition was attended by about 60 thousand visitors from 65 countries. Everybody who is professionally working in this business domain was able to find partners and enrich their client and dealer networks. They also had the opportunity to carefully study market demand and learn about the latest innovations in the sector.
Among the highlights of this season are the leading manufacturers with the following products:
- Fiat Ducato (three-room campers with pop-up roofs) – campers that offer a high level of comfort, which can be used both in winter and in summer, as they have a heating system, underfloor heating, and hot water supply for the cold season and climate control for the hot season;
- Lalalend – caravans with a washing machine, dishwasher and all kitchen appliances;
- Carpento – luxurious, technological, beautiful, comfortable, high-quality, and thoughtfully designed campervans with solar panels;
- Baskent Caravan – vehicles with a bathroom, wardrobe and ergonomic space design;
- X-Caravan – capsule caravans with a 2-meter capsule, which when deployed reaches 5 meters and consists of a bedroom and a kitchen-living room.
These types of caravans are a real engineering marvel on the market.
In addition, it is worth highlighting the American-made Airstream campers. This is a 93-year-old brand that has recently opened a dealership in Turkey. A refrigerator, shower, oven, heating system, and toilet are all standard features of their campervans. It’s really a kind of Ferrari in the camper world!
The Nacar Family caravan has become the know-how of the exhibition. It can accommodate up to 7 people (the first model of this capacity in Turkey) and has all the amenities and even a bike rack. It is worth mentioning Hotomobil, which manufactures not just caravans but also other highly technological products. It has created its first electric car, which is currently under development and will be presented at the next exhibitions.
