I drove a Volvo FH12 from 1999 just like this one - it really delivers on durability. The 380hp D12C engine? Capable and reliable, especially after a recent rebuild. Manual 12-speed transmission shifts smoothly. The minimal electronics simplifying maintenance is a plus. But the rear tires need replacing, and the frame shows minor rust that’s been treated. Comfortable interior with functional features like a tachograph and cruise control makes long drives manageable. Minimal convenience features, but essentials are covered.

The Volvo FH 13 is very comfortable for me as a driver, after a trip my back doesn't hurt, the seats are comfortable plus two beds, a refrigerator. The 400 hp performs well in different tasks. It accelerates quickly, driving is comfortable, gears shift effortlessly and without vibration. I would give it a 9 out of 10.

I worked on the Volvo FH 460 for a couple of months. Overall, it's a decent machine, but the emergency braking disappointed me - it may not work. I would recommend moving the windshield wipers to the top so they don't smear the glass with sand, otherwise you'll have to replace it soon.

As a driver of the Volvo FH 500, I was impressed by the 500 horsepower engine - it allows you to forget about the lack of power. There are plenty of compartments in the cabin, so there are no problems with storing things. The engine brake holds the truck well, but I only notice some inaccuracies when heavily loaded.

I checked out a similar Volvo FH12, 1999 year. It’s a solid truck for its age. It has a capable engine setup with essential features for day-to-day operations. The front tires were in great shape, the rear needed attention. What stood out was the straightforward mechanics - easy to handle during repairs. Inside, it had a clean and functional cabin, though nothing fancy. A solid choice if you’re after dependable performance.

Had the FH with both D13 and D16 engines. Power is no joke, and it pulls smoothly even when I'm maxed out. Definitely not loving the fuel economy though, especially if you're heavy a lot. The thing's got torque for days, but if you care about mpg it's not at the top. Handling is top drawer for a big truck, and the steering is really light, so I never feel beat up after a long shift. Servicing's pretty standard, Volvo garages everywhere, but the parts cost can sting.

I've had my Volvo FH13 for some time now, specifically used under complex routes. The ride quality is stable, but repairs come up unexpectedly.

Had a few trips in both the regular D13K and the new D13TC FHs. The new engine’s a bit heavier, yeah, but when you’re loaded up and need to keep pace, that extra torque helps. The Dual Clutch is slick but honestly I’ve had smooth enough shifts in older models too, so I don’t think it’s a deal breaker either way. I’m still wrapping my head around all the tech - cloud maps and I-Roll and whatnot. Sometimes I just want to do things myself. It does use less fuel, or at least that’s what it looks like on my numbers. Cabs are alright for long hauls, not much racket from the engine. Not the fanciest interior, but plenty comfortable for a few days out. Only real downside is the price for the I-Save kit; stings a bit for a truck, though I guess it’s not bad if you run long distance all the time.

I recently drove the updated Volvo FH model, and it left a mixed impression. The fuel economy is a noticeable improvement, making long hauls lighter on the budget. Performance-wise, the truck handles well, especially in hilly terrains. However, adjusting to new features such as I-Save took me some time. Comfort during long drives is satisfactory, except for minor ergonomic preferences. Overall, it’s a decent upgrade with room for a few enhancements.

I've recently checked out the Volvo FH13 2011, fitted with the D13 engine and I-Shift transmission. The cab layout is spacious, and the storage compartments are quite accessible. The driving ergonomics seem well-thought-out. However, while the suspension system provides reasonable comfort, it isn't entirely flawless over rough patches. Nonetheless, the reliability of this truck and its performance during transit is commendable.
