Drove the new Citaro for my city route this week. The improved fuel efficiency is noticeable, which is a big plus given the current operational costs. However, I felt the driver's cabin, while ergonomic, could use slightly better seat cushioning for long shifts.

I've been driving the Intouro for some school and tourist routes for a while now. Got to say, what stands out most is the comfort, especially for the kids I’m hauling every day. They're always stoked to ride in a bus that isn’t bumpy or noisy. The seats are actually good, more comfy than on some older models I’ve driven. About reliability, I got caught in a pretty nasty traffic jam because of an accident once, and the emergency brake assist kicked in by itself - saved me from a close call there. I’m honestly impressed with those safety features; stuff like that makes my job less stressful. Only thing is, while all these assist systems are cool, sometimes they beep too much if you’re doing lots of turns in the city. Gets a bit annoying, but better safe I guess. Price-wise, I don’t decide on that, but I’ve heard the Intouro isn’t the cheapest, but yeah, it feels solid and well built. Looks like it’ll last a while. Maintenance seems standard to me, nothing too fancy, nothing too fussy so far.

Driving the Citaro has been quite an experience. The driver’s seat is adjustable and genuinely provides good support during long hours. The automatic four-speed gearbox is responsive yet could use a bit more efficiency at higher speeds. The door operation is smooth and noise-free, offering a quieter ride for passengers. Still, the overall lighting inside relies on conventional daylight bulbs, which might need modernization. Moving on, I find the onboard passenger information system easy to operate and reliable.

I’ve had some seat time in the Tourismo and the first thing I noticed was the mirrors. You can actually see what’s going on up front when you’re creeping into tight bays. The top mirror being a bit bigger/curved helps, blind spots feel reduced. I could see across the front and down to just behind the front wheel, which is where bikes love to hide.

Downside? The dash info for the lights/dip beam felt a bit awkward at first. Like you need to know where to look, because it’s not super obvious in the moment at night. Once you learn it, fine, but first couple runs I was double-checking myself.

Overall it drives easy, turns in better than you’d expect for the size.

So I recently had the opportunity to drive the Mercedes-Benz 2026 Travego. The panoramic windows are a great feature for passengers-it seems like everyone enjoys the unobstructed views. From the driver's perspective, the adaptive cruise control is a game-changer, making long routes more tolerable. Fuel efficiency, while improved, could still see further optimization. Regardless, the vehicle offers a commendable balance between style and functionality.

Short note from a driver: Travego 16 is built for distance. 13 m and three axles mean you need space to turn, so tight city runs are annoying. The 700 L tank is handy, you can cover long stretches, yet the bus drinks fuel - expect big fuel bills. Engine is Euro-5 OM457, reliable in my experience, no sudden breakdowns on routes. Seats, tables, AC and on-board kitchen make passengers quiet and happy. On the resale market it’s costly, so buying used needs checking. Overall solid but not cheap to operate in fuel terms.

Tourismo’s interior layout just makes life easier. Stowing luggage is quick with the big bays underfloor. I don't have to stress about space, even with big groups. The micro and sound system does the job, but not exactly premium quality. Operation’s straightforward, gearbox is predictable whether it’s auto or manual. Never had a breakdown on the road, but the initial investment can be steep, especially if you're buying used from Western Europe. Generally solid workhorse. Not perfect, but covers most of what I need as a driver.

I check comfort from a passenger and driver view. Inside feels roomy - big panoramic windows, wide aisles, seats recline and give good legroom. AC holds temp even in heat, and noise insulation makes long runs less tiring. Ambient lights help at night shifts. Onboard charging and entertainment keep passengers occupied, which cuts down on questions. Suspension soaks bumps, ride stays stable on rough roads. Engine and transmission feel built for lots of miles. I don't have hard numbers on service costs or price, so can't say much there. Still, passengers like the space and calm cabin.

Driving the Intouro every day makes things easier for sure. The blind spot system is a big deal for buses, everyone knows how sketchy those can get, especially when changing lanes in tight traffic. A simple orange light warning - honestly, once you get used to that, you start wondering how you ever went without it. It does make me pay attention more, but sometimes it feels a bit too sensitive (lights up even when there’s nothing major). Had no major problems with it so far, regular oil changes and such, nothing broke down so maintenance is just routine stuff. The brake assist system’s legit, worked perfectly when some cars stopped suddenly in front of me. Comfort for passengers seems high, no complaints from the usual noisy crowd. Only gripe, maybe the price is up there a bit for what you get, but you kind of expect that from Mercedes anyway.

Been driving the Travego 16 for a couple years now, mainly on cross-border trips with tourists and corporate groups. The interior is comfortable, roomy enough for everyone, and those big windows are a nice touch for sightseeing. Passengers seem pretty happy with the individual AC vents and those personal tables. The adjustable seats are handy. The power from that OM 457 engine is steady, no lack of pull, but I gotta say the fuel consumption is a bit hefty-30L per 100km starts to sting on long hauls if the company is tight on fuel budget. Auto box on mine, shifts are smooth. Maintenance is about what you’d expect for a bus this size and class. Nothing drastically bad, but keeping the A/C and kitchen gear in good shape needs attention. No breakdowns so far, so that’s a relief. Loads of storage space down below for bags and gear. Haven’t had any real comfort complaints from passengers. Only gripe, price is steep even on the used market-but you sort of expect that.
