Нефтяной отстойник ОГ — цельносварная конструкция цилиндрической формы, устанавливаемая горизонтально на седловые опоры. Боковые стенки цилиндра имеют эллипсоидную форму. Для ввода/вывода рабочих сред и подключения дополнительного оборудования устройство оснащено штуцерами.
В России производство нефтяных горизонтальных отстойников, поступающих в свободную продажу, осуществляется с учетом особенностей рабочих сред, что гарантирует возможность доукомплектации агрегата вспомогательными элементами. Вместе с тем базисная часть оборудования неизменно включает:
