Drove the new Citaro for my city route this week. The improved fuel efficiency is noticeable, which is a big plus given the current operational costs. However, I felt the driver's cabin, while ergonomic, could use slightly better seat cushioning for long shifts.

Driving the Citaro has been quite an experience. The driver’s seat is adjustable and genuinely provides good support during long hours. The automatic four-speed gearbox is responsive yet could use a bit more efficiency at higher speeds. The door operation is smooth and noise-free, offering a quieter ride for passengers. Still, the overall lighting inside relies on conventional daylight bulbs, which might need modernization. Moving on, I find the onboard passenger information system easy to operate and reliable.

I like the quiet operation of the doors, reliable 12L diesel engine, adjustable seat, and informative dashboard. I can accelerate up to 50 km in 15 seconds. Not very satisfied with the salon heating, but this is related to our winters.

Operating the electric Citaro is a noteworthy experience. It’s silent and eco-friendly, which aligns with modern demands. Charging might require some planning as stations aren’t everywhere yet. I find the safety features like adaptive cruise control quite helpful during long shifts. It brings some peace, knowing the system assists in high traffic situations.

Driving the Mercedes-Benz Citaro is a relatively smooth experience. The configuration offers commendable ergonomics, and the advanced driver assistance systems add to operational ease. However, the air conditioning system faced minor issues, possibly due to prolonged idle status. Overall, it feels sturdy and dependable for city driving.

I've been running routes with the hybrid and the fully electric Citaro. Quiet, barely any engine noise, passengers don't even notice when we pull up-some like it, some aren't sure. Charging on the electric takes getting used to, had to change my habits a bit, but once you adjust, it's all right. Range is honestly enough for most of my shifts, but if we double up, I worry about making it through the whole day. Accessibility for folks with mobility aids is honestly way better than our old buses, ramps are easy, seating layout's open. Interior lighting's good too, feels safer at night. Never loved the price tag but that's not my call. Maintenance people seem happy since we barely have downtime.

As a driver, I've found the Citaro Hybrid's low-voltage 48V line significantly enhances safety during maintenance. The automatic transmission offers seamless shifts, ideal for frequent stops. Although, familiarization with the hybrid system's specifics requires dedicated training.

Had my go with the Citaro running the trial, did a couple days on Brisbane roads. Drives well, the transmission is super smooth and retarder worked like a charm especially downhill. Honestly, you hardly notice the extra width on tighter streets. The seats aren’t much to write home about, seem okay, pretty firm. Wish there were more of them though, we lost some space to that corner cooling setup. Not a huge issue on quieter routes, but something to think about if it goes mainstream. The whole dash-lifts-with-the-wheel thing threw me off at first but I got used to it, might be a selling point for some.

I've driven the Mercedes-Benz Citaro for a bit now, and I must say there are some good features. The driver's cockpit is well laid out, pretty intuitive overall, and the visibility is decent. That said, the suspension is nice for passengers, but it doesn't soften sharper turns from a driver's perspective. Overall, it does the job, but it's not perfect yet.

Operating the Mercedes-Benz Citaro has been quite an experience. The safety features provide peace of mind, especially during busy urban routes. The passenger feedback about the comfort levels has been overwhelmingly positive, though I think the engine noise could be a tad quieter.
